Mysterious Journey
Chapter 1019: The Room of Requirement
The ornate golden frame showed no signs of its centuries of age, and the base was supported by two claw-shaped feet. The inscription explaining its name and magical abilities was etched at the top, while the mirror itself was empty, as if a swirling mist resided within.
Clearly, the Mirror of Erised's range was not based on eyesight; she needed to get closer.
"So, let's see what I desire, which definitely isn't power..."
Eileen took a few steps forward, standing directly in front of the mirror, pretending to be calm as she gazed into it.
In the next moment, her voice caught in her throat.
Like an ink wash painting gradually spreading, she saw her own reflection appear in the center of the mirror.
However, it was slightly... well, perhaps somewhat different from the present.
The woman in the mirror was tall, with a curvaceous figure, and a mischievous, captivating expression on her flawless face.
From top to bottom: delicate collarbones, rounded and fair shoulders, a pristine white shirt stretched taut across her chest, as if the buttons were about to burst, waist-length silver hair shimmering with a pale golden light, and below that, a suddenly cinched waist and straight, slender, fair legs...
Eileen swallowed hard, met the lake-blue eyes in the Mirror of Erised for a few seconds, and nodded with certainty.
Yes, that was definitely her future self!
However, Eileen's attention didn't linger too long on the "fully realized succubus version" of her future self.
Because the mirror didn't just show her; there were a whole bunch of people standing beside her.
Eileen subconsciously turned around, glancing at the empty cyberpunk-style "junk city" behind her. The room was currently empty except for her, and she hadn't traveled to another place or time. She took a deep breath and turned back to the mirror.
Indeed, the "her" in the mirror still wore a sly smile, and there were at least ten other people around her.
Evidently, this must be what she truly desired.
She continued to examine the mirror closely.
In the mirror, a woman standing beside her was smiling and waving, a particularly capable and confident beauty with brown hair neatly combed behind her ears, and intelligent brown eyes that radiated pride and curiosity.
And behind her, an intellectual woman with dark golden hair took off her magical glasses, revealing light silvery eyes behind the lenses.
At the same time, a tall, sexy blonde with an even more fiery figure than "Eileen" sprang up, grinning as she hugged her friends, her tanned skin glowing with vitality and health, seemingly sharing some gossip.
Eileen looked thoughtfully at the women surrounding "herself" in the mirror, raising her eyebrows.
"Hermione? Luna?" she murmured. "Hmm, is that... Hannah?"
They looked at least ten years older than they were now, but Eileen could still recognize each of them at a glance.
More remarkably, Eileen noticed that everyone, including "herself," was wearing extremely fashionable, appropriate, and modern clothing. Some had their wands tucked into their pockets, others had them shrunk into bracelets, and Hermione even had a smart watch on her wrist.
Seemingly noticing Eileen's gaze, the girls giggled and took out their phones from their little bags, gathering together to take selfies and share them.
The most ridiculous thing was what Luna had in her small crossbody bag - a handheld game console!
And further away, there were many other modernly dressed men, women, and children. Grindelwald and Dumbledore were looking at the playful girls with smiles, while Xenophilius and Benitez were arguing about something. Benitez even summoned a light screen with a wave of his hand.
Further away, Newt, Lockhart, Snape, McGonagall... people were either chatting or using technology and magic products.
As Eileen's mind gradually sank in, the gray mist in the distance of the mirror quietly dissipated.
Above the clouds, the metal deck of the Hyperion reflected the dazzling sunlight.
Around Hogwarts Castle, dozens of flying vehicles floated and glided in the air.
Invisible ripples flashed, and she seemed to vaguely see beams of light green code hanging down from the boundless sky, falling into everyone's hands, while also carrying data to travel and exchange throughout the world. Deep blue magical flames unfolded into doorways, beyond which was the town of Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond.
This was not a static mirror world, but more like a mysterious window peeking into a future world.
Eileen stared at the scene before her, captivated and enraptured. It was a desire to be yearned for.
In her original assumptions, she had thought she might see herself return to modern society or arrive in a world where magic and technology were fused, but she had missed one point - unlike when she had just transmigrated, she now hoped to bring the people around her to that world together.
She stood there for a long time, almost forgetting the passage of time.
Until…
Eileen raised her hand, her eyes dazed, and reached towards the mirror.
Then, she saw her hand land on the "her" in the mirror's... butt?
The sexy silver-haired girl with lake-blue eyes curiously lowered her head, a familiar mischievousness and playfulness appearing on her lips.
After a pause of about half a second, she smiled and reached out her hand, as if to stroke the head of a certain white-haired loli.
Don't even think about it!
The cruel reality almost instantly restored Eileen to reason.
She quickly took a half step back, looking at the vivid images in the mirror with melancholy and anticipation.
No matter how tall and sexy "she" was in the mirror, Miss Kaslana in reality was still a poor little shorty for the time being.
The "answer" had been found, and there was no need to continue indulging in these illusions.
Now, she should go back to her bedroom and sleep.
As for those futures...
Eileen took one last deep look at the world in the mirror and said softly:
"The future will definitely be better than you."
A future that could be imagined was definitely not the destination she should truly reach.
However, she had found some direction - as for where the end point was, that was never something she needed to consider now.
…………
"You actually dared to run out for a night walk alone!" Hermione said angrily.
"Eh, well... look, more accurately, there's also Emergency Food and Little Braised Food..."
"In grammar class, the definition of 'alone' does not include small animals," Luna corrected appropriately.
"What if you got lost? Do you know that when we woke up, we found that your clothes and shoes were all gone, and there was no note left on the table. We almost planned to go to the headmaster's office and ask Professor Dumbledore to help search the castle."
"And you drank alcohol today!" Hannah said, leaning closer to Eileen's collar and sniffing.
"I've seen many similar situations in the bar at home - waking up in the middle of the night after drinking alcohol, then wandering around and causing trouble, then suddenly falling asleep on the ground, and then not remembering anything after waking up. This is quite dangerous! Why didn't you call us? And where did Eileen go for so long? Aren't you the one who goes to bed the earliest—"
Looking at the menacing little witches around her, Eileen gave a dry laugh, her eyes flickering.
"Well, actually, I was just hungry and wanted to find something to eat..."
"You're lying, hic—I, I can tell at a glance! Ten times!"
Before Eileen could finish speaking, Hermione suddenly moved closer to Eileen's face, staring intently into her eyes.
The girl's breath, mixed with the scent of alcohol, brushed against Eileen, and a hint of pressure rarely seen in her eyes flashed in her bright brown eyes.
"Not to mention that you have a lot of food hidden in your chest, if you really went to the kitchen to find a midnight snack, then we'll take the time to ask tomorrow morning and we'll know the truth, do you dare to bet? This time, I want to bet with you one hundred, um, two hundred... no! Two thousand times!"
"Well, Sister Eileen, lying is not allowed—" Luna pulled out her wand at some unknown time, shaking it extremely dangerously.
"Uh—"
Eileen scratched her cheek, looking around at the little witches who were watching her like tigers with a troubled expression.
Obviously, Hannah, Luna, and Hermione were all somewhat abnormally excited.
This couldn't be blamed on them. After all, Eileen had coaxed them to drink a lot of red wine tonight, even though most of it was poured into Honk Honk, but for the other two little girls who had never drunk alcohol, it was no problem to continue to be excited and brave for a while with the help of alcohol.
The most important thing was that, judging from the current situation, they were not logically confused because of it.
"Okay, okay," Eileen spread her hands helplessly, "Have you heard of, Hogwarts's... Room of Requirement?"
Anyway, many people will have memory loss after drinking too much. If she explains it faster, maybe they will forget it when they wake up.
…………
People's constitutions are different.
Even after getting drunk, it is obviously still naive to expect the little wings to have memory loss.
The next day, all three little witches mentioned the Room of Requirement.
Breakfast after Christmas was served individually.
House elves would deliver the menu and breakfast to each person's room.
Therefore, they didn't have to get up early to go to the Great Hall and eat breakfast on time under the gaze of the professors, as usual.
After enjoying breakfast comfortably in the Hufflepuff common room, they rushed to the eighth-floor corridor of the castle where the entrance to the Room of Requirement was located under Eileen's guidance. Compared to Little Braised Food, the efficiency of finding the way this time was much higher than last night.
In less than a few minutes, they arrived in front of the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy being clubbed by trolls.
"I'll be responsible for opening the door," Eileen said. "The condition is very critical, and multiple thoughts may trigger unexpected situations."
"Hmm," Hermione nodded thoughtfully, recalling Eileen's introduction on the way here. "Actually, it's somewhat similar to a Boggart, right? If there are too many people wandering outside the door at the same time, and everyone has different ideas, the Room of Requirement may also be confused?"
"That's roughly the case, but I haven't tried this either..."
Eileen shrugged her shoulders, a hint of eagerness flashed in her eyes, and said with great interest.
"Anyway, it's boring to be idle these days off. After we see the mirror, we can play with the Room of Requirement for the rest of the time."
Immediately afterward, she skillfully walked back and forth in front of the Room of Requirement three times.
That smooth door quietly appeared on the wall.
"Wow! It really appeared!"
"So amazing!"
"I'll try it later! I said I'll go first!"
The three little witches looked at the wall in surprise, rubbing their eyes at the same time.
Even though they had been staring at the wall in advance under Eileen's hint, they didn't find out how it appeared. It seemed that a door appeared in the blink of an eye, as if it had always been there, but they hadn't noticed it.
"Come on, let's go see the Mirror of Erised first, and by the way, find some treasures..."
Eileen pushed open the door, turned around and looked at the three little witches behind her with surprised expressions, and said meaningfully.
"There are a lot of good-looking things inside, come and see, and this is only the first room, there are many changes later."
This was probably the oldest magical room in Hogwarts history.
No one has ever known how many room templates there are in the Room of Requirement.
However, anything that exists must have a limit.
As a pioneer in exploring the truth, Eileen had coveted this place for a long time.
She didn't have time to study it slowly on weekdays, and this Christmas was undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, after all, the castle had just undergone a purge.
At this time, the Room of Requirement did not yet know what kind of future it would experience.
