Mysterious Journey
Chapter 831: Prefect Hannah
A wave of energy spread out, shattering the marble floor of the Great Hall's entrance. Flying shards of stone stirred up a cloud of blurry white dust. After the deafening roar, the entrance hall fell silent for a few seconds, with only one voice echoing.
"Stop it! Stop fighting! Everyone stop!"
Hermione whirled around, seeing Hannah's figure gradually becoming clearer in the center of the smoke and dust.
She stood on the flagstone lane riddled with spiderweb-like cracks, cautiously observing the disheveled students holding wands, all of whom had clearly participated in the recent campus brawl.
An eerie silence fell over the entrance hall.
Apart from Hannah, no one dared to move. No one had clearly seen what had just happened.
"Hannah Abbott, Hogwarts Prefect Trainee – put away your wands!"
Hannah hesitated for a few seconds, then nervously fumbled for a yellow and black armband and attached it to her left arm.
Luckily, Professor Apocalyps had previously outlined the prefect's work process.
When she didn't know what to do, she just needed to follow the professor's instructions one by one.
"Hogwarts forbids all campus brawls. Please immediately cease all disciplinary violations and do not offer futile resistance. Relevant parties and witnesses should remain in place to await processing. Unrelated personnel, please do not linger – um…"
Hannah quickly finished the long speech, then turned to Danilova, who was closest to her, and asked in a low voice.
"Are you hurt? Dani… How did you guys get into a fight with the other students?"
"No," Danilova said, proudly waving her little fist. "Those older students insulted Irina's grandfather and even cast spells at her, but I already taught them a good lesson – I'm not someone to be trifled with!"
"Older students?"
Hannah frowned, following Danilova's gaze.
Not far from them, a Slytherin boy was curled up on the ground like a cooked shrimp, trying to sit up slowly with the help of his companions, his distorted face a mix of anger and pain.
Hogwarts Castle housed nearly a thousand students, who usually had little interaction with each other outside of their year and house.
If they were relatively introverted wizards, they might not even know the names of everyone in their year by graduation, let alone older students from other houses who they almost never met or spoke to, except in the Great Hall during meals.
However, strangely enough, Hannah happened to recognize the Slytherin upperclassman who was now looking over at them.
"I remember you, Slytherin's Lucian Bole. What is it this time?"
Seeing the Slytherin boy's face clearly, the honest girl narrowed her eyes, a hint of anger flashing across her rosy face. She subconsciously squeezed the small fists that had just shattered the marble floor, and said in an unfriendly tone.
"It was you guys last year, and it's you again this year… Looks like you've made it a habit to bully first years?"
At the beginning of the last semester, when Aileen had knocked down those two bad Slytherin students in that narrow alley to protect Draco, her, and a group of new students, this Lucian Bole was one of them.
Moreover, Hannah clearly remembered that this guy had also pulled Aileen's hair very hard during the fight.
If it hadn't been for her leading the Hufflepuffs to help later, she didn't know how badly Aileen would have been hurt by those barbaric Slytherin students. Even though relations between the two houses had eased slightly afterwards, Hannah still felt somewhat resentful about it.
That's why she had been so ruthless towards those green-robed guys during the Quidditch final last year.
"I refuse to believe it!"
Hannah Abbott snorted coldly, flexed her wrists a few times, and walked towards Lucian Bole with an unkind expression.
Since Professor Dumbledore had appointed her as a prefect at Hogwarts, Hannah had thought more than once that if she could go back to the beginning of the semester, she wouldn't have left Aileen behind, but would have fought against the bullying together.
She didn't expect that the first campus conflict she dealt with after becoming a prefect would be with this bad person who had once bullied them.
"You know what I hate most? People like you who bully younger students!"
Hannah's face was covered with a layer of frost as she looked down at the boy who was slumped on the ground.
"This is the most despicable, disgusting, and infuriating behavior I've ever seen…"
"W-wait, listen to me explain…"
Lucian Bole's eyes darted from the stone floor that looked as if it had been smashed by a dragon, and he swallowed nervously. He scooted backwards while still sitting on the ground, and quickly said, waving the letter and newspaper in his hand.
"That little guy named Ivanovich lied to everyone. I was just revealing the truth. As for that lady next to you, I didn't even touch her with a finger. She was the one who started hitting people first… Miss Abbott, since Professor Dumbledore appointed you as a prefect, surely you won't judge right and wrong based on personal relationships, will you?"
"Is that so? But you cast a spell on Irina first, right?"
Hannah said calmly, stopping a step away from Bole.
"On that point, Danilova can't be wrong, right? Then I think Dani's retaliation was perfectly reasonable."
According to the white-haired dumpling's wizarding combat theory, if you exclude wandless magic and bloodline magic, when two wizards fight in an area where Apparition is impossible, this distance is within the advantage zone of complete physical attack coverage.
Even a super-out-of-spec freak wizard like Aileen could only use Runic counter-measures at such a close range.
"That was, that was, uh, that's because…"
Lucian Bole hesitated for a moment, then rolled his eyes and quickly retorted.
"Right, Miss Abbott, Ivanovich drew his wand first! We were just reading a newspaper. The subsequent Disarming Charm was just forced retaliation, after all, she was pointing her wand at us. We couldn't just wait for her to cast a spell, could we?"
As a member of the Slytherin team that had once been completely defeated by the "Moonlight Squad," Bole knew very well the terrifying power hidden in the body of the second-year witch in front of him, which was a monstrous strength not inferior to Aileen Kaslana's.
He didn't think he was sturdier than the marble floor of the Hogwarts entrance hall.
Even if it was later proven that Hannah also had magical healing abilities similar to Aileen's, he didn't want to try it.
"Forced… retaliation? Newspaper?"
Hannah was stunned, her originally firm gaze gradually becoming confused. She asked softly.
"Dani, what exactly happened?"
"Let me explain. That Miss Ivanovich's grandfather is a notorious dark wizard, a criminal."
Lucian Bole said smugly, waving the letter from home in his hand.
"The Ministry of Magic's verdict is here! It's because her grandfather killed hundreds of wizards, thousands of Muggles, and almost exposed the wizarding world to the Muggle world! As for why she came to Hogwarts… if I'm not mistaken, it's probably because no other magical school was willing to accept her except for the kind-hearted Professor Dumbledore!"
"My grandfather is not a dark wizard! Grandpa saved many people!"
Irina Ivanovich retorted loudly, trembling with anger.
"Oh, really? The Ministry of Magic's announcement and report stated everything clearly!"
Lucian Bole said sarcastically, casually flicking the newspaper with the old wizard's photo on it.
"Then please tell me, Prefect, who did Mr. Novart save? After all, according to this report, this former headmaster of a magic school not only didn't save anyone, but instead incited a large number of wizards and Muggles to enter the 'Cursed Land' – and most of these people eventually died, all from being infected with 'Wizard's Woe'… Are you saying the Ministry of Magic is lying?"
"That was, that was because Grandpa said…"
Irina Ivanovich opened her mouth, her face flushed red.
Regarding the dangers of "Wizard's Woe," and why Grandpa insisted on leaving his family to save those Muggles, even her father had never gotten an answer. Most of what she knew came from Grandpa's sporadic explanations.
And in such a situation, obviously no one would believe what she said.
Most importantly, this was also a problem that had been troubling Irina all along.
Novart Ivanovich always said that he had to go to Pripyat to save the Muggles, but until her family left Stalingrad, they didn't see any of the people he saved come to thank him – apart from a medal and 1000 rubles, old Ivanovich didn't receive any proof or reward from those Muggles.
"Everyone! Everyone, including you —"
Just then, Danilova suddenly took a deep breath and said very seriously.
"If it weren't for Irina's grandfather, once the reactor contaminated the groundwater system, the 'Wizard's Woe' you speak of would have spread throughout the European continent, and no one could have escaped. I don't know the laws of the wizarding world, but if he really called on wizards to go to Chernobyl for rescue at that time, then he must be the greatest wizard in our country!"
"Ha, nonsense, what greatest wizard."
Lucian Bole sneered, glancing disdainfully at the girl standing behind Hannah.
"Do you think I'm an ignorant fool? Even the most powerful spells couldn't travel such a long distance to reach Hogwarts, let alone things made by Muggles. Ha, just the lies of a dark wizard!"
"Dark… dark wizard… foreign… killed many people?" Hannah blinked.
What was all this? Wasn't this just bullying the weak?
In the honest girl's original thought, this was just a high-year student bullying a low-year student – how did it sound now like the story behind it was particularly complicated, and even involved some foreign dark wizard?
This involved her blind spot of knowledge. Perhaps Hermione and Aileen would know more.
Since she usually spent most of her time with Hermione, Luna, and Aileen, these complex situations were usually discussed and judged by those smart girlfriends, and she wouldn't make the judgment.
Thinking about it carefully, this seemed to be the first time she had participated in an action alone – and from the current situation, the side of Lucian Bole was the one that made sense? After all, the credibility of the Ministry of Magic was a little more persuasive.
Forget it, too troublesome!
She shouldn't think so much and just skip to the next step!
"I'm just a prefect trainee, I only manage to stop your violations, the professors will judge right and wrong!"
Hannah looked left and right at the two sides who had started arguing again, wisely not participating in the topic.
She carefully recalled the "Prefect's Handbook" compiled by Professor Apocalyps and cleared her throat, and said.
"Alright, now I'll ask again, who is injured? Before the official professor or Mr. Filch arrive, I can help you heal your wounds a little. This is also one of the prefect's duties."
"I…"
Lucian Bole subconsciously raised his hand, about to say something.
"If you dare to open your mouth and let Hannah heal your wound, then you may lose it forever."
Before he could finish speaking, a whisper like a demon's came to his ear. The voice was very familiar, it was the witch who had once locked Derek and him in the classroom and tortured them for more than an hour.
Lucian Bole shuddered and suddenly turned his head to look around.
However, it was dinnertime, and with their delay, the already crowded Great Hall entrance had become even more crowded. It was not easy to find that short witch in the dense crowd.
Before he could find Aileen's figure in the crowd, the low threatening voice sounded in his ear again.
"Don't look around, don't say unnecessary things, understand?"
"Huh? Okay… Where are you injured?"
Just then, Hannah Abbott's voice also rang out not far from Lucian Bole.
Although from the bottom of her heart, she wasn't very willing to treat this Slytherin upperclassman who had once bullied Draco and beaten Aileen, since she was now a prefect, she should be as fair as possible.
"Uh – I, I'm fine, haha – I'm fine —"
Lucian Bole gave a dry laugh, showing a smile that was uglier than crying.
Compared to directly turning into a girl, he felt that this pain was something he could endure a little — in Hogwarts, no matter who you offend, don't offend Aileen Kaslana. This had almost become common sense in Slytherin.
"So, you weren't injured at all?"
Hannah frowned slightly, looked the boy in front of her up and down, and said angrily.
"Danilova didn't hurt you at all? It was all just an act? How can you be so shameless!"
In fact, she had been a little suspicious earlier, whether the other party was using her sympathy, after all, Aileen had warned Hannah more than once that many perpetrators liked to pretend to be weak to gain sympathy.
Thinking about it carefully, Danilova wasn't a freakish girl like Aileen, so it was indeed unlikely that she could beat a fourth-year boy.
"Ah this, no, I —"
Faced with Hannah Abbott's increasingly unfriendly gaze, Lucian Bole felt sweat breaking out on his back.
If he had known this would happen, he should have been a little more patient and waited until he returned to the Slytherin common room before exposing the true face of Irina Ivanovich and taking back the Shadow Prefect position, instead of shouting loudly here in the entrance hall.
Neither Aileen, nor Hannah, who had become a prefect, were people he could afford to offend now.
Fortunately, from the current situation, the little witch named Irina Ivanovich didn't seem to have any relationship with Aileen. After dealing with the small conflict in the entrance hall, it should be possible to…
